Australia
We have spent many years travelling and devouring this amazing continent of Australia. We love the Australian climate, the diversity and most of all the relaxed friendly Australian people.
 Australia is a massive land mass rivalling that of the USA. The bulk of its 21.3 million populations live along its vast east and western coast lines. Mass immigration after WW2 from Europe and Asia has resulted in many diverse cultures and large, bustling modern cosmopolitan cities.
The seven states of Australia differ greatly in geology, climate and activities for the overseas adventure traveller, the sunny climate and endless blue skies enhances the outdoor adventure lifestyle and beach culture, adventure is alive and well within these shores.
The most spectacular scenery is in the arid Australian outback west of the dividing range, here startling blue skies contrast with the ochre red earth, and deep desert gorges. The green bush stretches into eternity and produces food and medicines for the indigenous people who have maintained a traditional lifestyle in the interior speaking their own language and living by their traditional laws.
Aboriginal art is much sought after by overseas travellers and collectors alike and has grown into a million dollar industry. Aboriginal rock art is found in hidden corners of this vast continent, telling stories of adventure and their life in days gone by.
The Great Barrier Reef stretches 2000kms along the tropical coast of Queensland offering outdoor adventure plus. With its many tropical islands surrounded by crystal clear, turquoise ocean, white sandy beaches and swaying palms. Here you can dive, snorkel and swim or leisurely observe the colourful tropical fish and corals from a glass bottom boat.
The lush tropical rain forest of Northern Queensland is alive with birds, insects and bright colourful sweet smelling flowers, there are many hikes and walks through the forests, and wildlife is abundant.
Kayaking and sailing around the wonderful tropical islands is another option. This coast offers many wonderful tropical hideaways and luxury resorts, situated on tropical islands or secluded spots on the mainland. The camping grounds are many and well appointed, hotels, resorts and bed and breakfast's are all exciting options.
Cape York in far north Australia offers outback wilderness camping adventures, and the return journey to Cairns can be taken either by plane or a leisurely three day cruise. Australia is resource rich with many highly producing mines of zinc, copper, gold, silver, diamonds, and uranium and tin.
The Australian ski fields in the south are a huge attraction, with a mass exodus from cities in the weekends to enjoy the exhilaration of speeding down snowy slopes. The people of Australia are happy and relaxed; the great Australian icon is a beer with the prawn on the back yard barbecue.
Australian seafood is succulent, shrimps, prawns, shell fish, Morten Bay crabs, barramundi and marlin and many more. The Gulf of Carpentaria in Australia's far north is a fisherman’s paradise, people motor north for the winter to enjoy the warm temperatures and first class fishing and seafood.
